After the midsummer festivities, we spent a couple of days at Reidar's family's cabin, about 40 minutes inland of Grimstad.
It was extremely quiet there.. except for the thrice daily trains that flew past on the other side of the lake and echoed through the whole valley.
On our drive back to Oslo, we stopped at different towns along the coast. One of these was Risør—a small tourist town. There I had the biggest ice cream I've ever had, read a newspaper headline that Michael Jackson died, and found an awesome second hand store that had a stressless recliner and some japanese tea cups for cheap!
Out on the lake in a canoe
A quick solo trip at night (can't remember the time). As you can see it was extremely still.
Nice beach
The beach just down from where we stayed the night near Kristiansand (Southern Norway). We soon realised it was right near the airport. Which I thought was awesome.
The town of Risør
Nice little town. I picked up a 'stressless' recliner in an op shop for 150kr ($30AUD). They are a well known brand in Norway. Bargain.

nice use of 'thrice'.
Meanwhile, awesome pictures. We are missing you guys, and I am jealous of your 'heatwave'. Also... I thought of you this morning Paul as I was reading my magazine and they had a product in there which is font names (in their fonts) as big bling necklaces. Whoever came up with that has to know you.

thanks janeo.. the 'heatwave' was a while ago so don't feel too jealous - it's a slippery slope to 4 hours daylight, and snow from here...
